Privacy Compliance

Udirect is one of the largest providers of database marketing services in the APAC region. Udirect maintains for its clients: corporate databases and customer databases and has access to other information and databases that provide names and addresses and related demographic information of corporations throughout APAC. In addition, Udirect makes available in compliance with strict consumer privacy protection policies , access to business data on the information technological needs of corporations and institutions throughout the world.

Udirect DOES NOT in any way disclose the following information .
  • Consumer household income
  • Social security number
  • National identification number
  • Credit card information
  • Any other government-issued identifiers.

The list is considered High Business Intelligence (HBI) and Udirect information furnished hereunder are held in strict confidence and shall never be reproduced, revealed or made accessible in whole or in part, in any manner whatsoever, to any others unless required by law, or unless the Udirect obtains the Database Owner's written consent. Neither may the information be used by in connection with providing advice or recommendations to others, it being understood that the information is only for the Udirect's internal use. Without limiting to the foregoing, none of the information mentioned above may be used to create the whole or any part of any mailing list, telemarketing list, other marketing or research aid or other data compilation which is to be sold or otherwise provided to any third party.

Udirect is committed to:

  1. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and to comply with the prevailing industry standard of ethics, in Malaysia and Asia. Udirect monitors privacy issues on a persistent basis to assure that changes in legislation, regulation, and self-regulation/peer-regulation are included in this policy and are enforced, communicated to and understood by Udirect employees.
  2. Recognize the rights of consumers worldwide to OPT OUT or make choices about the disclosure of intelligence or information about themselves. Udirect also encourages its consumer marketing clients to maintain their own name-removal or suppression lists. Where appropriate, Udirect also conforms to government-sponsored and privately offered suppression services, as well as data suppression services offered by direct marketing associations of other countries.
  3. Udirect runs employee training programs to develop and understand Privacy Policy.
  4. Udirect enforces all clients to send in encrypted database at all times either via electronic mail or CD copy. Proactively engaging clients/consumers to practice security with handling High Business Intelligence or Medium Business Intelligence data records.
  5. Utilizing the latest cutting edge of software technology and systems to develop and maintain sophisticated marketing databases for its customers.
  6. Apply security measures such as firewall, user login access, server restrictions, and encrypted files to safeguard data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure to even pertaining internal control.
  7. Udirect actively participates in the Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia’s (DMAM) efforts to establish industry guidelines that safeguard personal information protection and to advance a standard protocol worldwide.

Udirect will always enforce accurate database to maintain satisfaction, result responses, and a due diligence to maintain integrity of all records within Udirect Corporate Database.

Udirect complies with the Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia of the "Code of Ethics" regarding collection, use, and retention of personal data. The Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia serves as Udirect's third-party dispute resolution provider.
